Suezan Cunningham is a self-taught artist whose creative journey is testament to the fact that it is never too late to begin. At 73, she joined Art West Community Gallery in Brisbane’s west in 2023, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter and a lifelong passion finally brought to life.
Working primarily with acrylics, Suezan creates bold, strong and highly textured artworks that offer a vibrant window into nature and colour. She loves experimenting with fluid art, paint-pour techniques and texture, allowing each piece to develop its own energy and movement.
After being overwhelmed by the sales and opportunities her work received, Suezan continues to embrace new possibilities. She now regularly exhibits at both Art West and Creative Hearts Co.

On this particular day, Anne was fortunate to photograph the beautiful bird in its familiar surroundings, preserving a moment of calm, grace and natural beauty.
